Steel Laser Cutting

General / common accuracy of + /- 0.005” (0.13mm). Steel sheet and plate cost far less than bar stock. Fast cutting our 20kw Fiber sheet laser can cut ½” plate at over 7 meters per minute. Very low set up times so economical for small and large part runs alike

Stainless Steel Laser Cutting

We process gauge metal up to 1” thick stainless plate. Same General / common accuracy of + /- 0.005” (0.13mm) as steel. We can cut ½” stainless at more than 8 meters per minute. No tooling issues or special tooling required

Aluminum Laser Cutting

We process gauge metal up to 1” thick aluminum plate. We provide a general / common accuracy of + /- 0.005” (0.13mm) on aluminium. We can cut ½” aluminum at over 5 meters per minute. More economical than other processing methods

Metal Laser Cutting Capabilities, Tolerances and Accuracy

For the majority of parts the general tolerance for our laser cutting is plus minus 0.005” or 0.13mm. The cut repeatability for our laser cut parts is plus minus 0.003” or 0.08mm.

Our 20kw laser produces far cleaner edges than most common laser will in thickener plates. As the plates being cut get thicker, more minor imperfections in the cuts will appear but our 20kw fiber laser minimizes these. While we can not eliminate all blemishes we believe you will be impressed with the quality of our laser cutting.

Laser Sheet Capacity 
Our sheet laser can run up to 5 ft x 10 ft sheets or 1550 x 3050 mm
Max sheet weight is 1700 kg or 3750 lbs

Tube Laser Capacity
Our Tube laser can cut up to 9” (228mm) diameter or 6” square tube with up to 8 meters (315”) in length. Max tube weight for the tube laser is 260kg (570lbs) per tube

Material: Cut Capacity Sheet laser
Aluminum: We offer laser cutting of aluminum sheet and plate up to 1” thick
Carbon Steel: While the laser is rated for 2” thick material we do not cut thicker than 1.5” at this time
Stainless Steel: We will cut stainless for you up to 1” thick

Metal Laser Cutting Services FAQ

All our sheet and tube lasers are fiber lasers.

Laser costs are determined by the running time. For most parts we cut the metal is far more of the cost than the laser time.

Yes a powerful laser can cut through metals.

There is not one specific type of laser you need to cut metal. Commonly in industry CO2 lasers were used until about 2020 roughly and then fiber lasers took over the market.

A 1000 watt laser should be able to cut ⅜” thick steel. It would be pretty slow and likely not too pretty. Our 20kw laser can cut up to 2” thick steel but at this time we do not offer more than 1.5” cutting services.
