All Materials we Fabricate in Hamilton
Hamilton is known as Steel Town and steel is its most commonly used material for metal fabricating. That is not to say it does not use and needs its fair share of aluminum and stainless steel. We also provide fabricated parts from such synthetics as acrylic, HDPE, phenolic and nylon to name a few. Our focus is on metal fabrication but we help where we can.
Steel plus Carbon Steel
Mild and carbon steel form the foundation of most fabrication projects. These materials provide strength, weldability, and cost efficiency. Our processes are optimized for consistent handling of steel in structural and industrial applications.
Aluminum and all Lightweight Metals
Aluminum fabrication supports applications requiring reduced weight and heat sinking. Forming and welding processes need to be adjusted to work with aluminum. At Seaborn we do not believe that aluminum should be welded by most common welding machines and welders. That is why we have invested in staff training and the best of machines.
Copper, Brass and Specialty Metals
We process copper and brass for applications requiring conductivity or specialized properties. Fabrication methods need to be adapted to maintain quality and material integrity. Obtaining these materials can be challenging at times and you can expect a significant difference in pricing from a similar steel part.
Industries We Serve especially in Hamilton
If you’re serving the Hamilton industry you have to serve the steel industry and we are proud to do so at Seaborn. Hamilton also has its share of chemical companies needing stainless fabrication. Hamilton is a changing city but still a city that was built on heavy industry.

Metal Fabrication Hamilton –/ FAQ
Cost is driven by material use both quantity and what material is used. Tolerances have a large effect on cost. One of the biggest impacts on cost is volume. The set up time to make one part or 1,000 parts is often identical. The machines need to make your parts and how much time needs to be spent with each of them to make the component(s).
Welding is the fusing of two pieces of metal together and is part of the bigger term metal fabrication. Fabrication is the modifying of stock material to produce the parts the world needs. When fabricating for our clients we often weld their parts together to make an assembly. Welding provides a permanent joint. Fabrication in general is taking the stock materials, bar, rod ,sheet. tube etc and turning them into something the world needs. Fabrication can include laser cutting, press brake, cnc tube bending, PEM serts, welding and more.
You should evaluate capability, production capacity flexibility , quality control, and experience with similar tasks. The right fabrication partner for you will demonstrate repeatable processes, clear communication, and the ability to scale with your production needs.
Welding is just one part of metal fabrication. Welding involves the fusing of two pieces of metal together to make a durable and permanent joint. Metal fabrication covers everything that can be done to transform metal into the parts we need. Metal fabrication includes welding but is not limited to just this one process and its various techniques.
Yes, Seaborn Manufacturing supports both straightforward and complex fabrication projects. Whether you require simple laser cut components or multi stage sub assemblies, and assemblies we develop the process order that will maintain accuracy and consistency. We are ready to take on your fabrication projects. With tube bending, laser cutting sheet & tube, press brakes and CNC machining centers. We deliver to your specifications.
At Seaborn the most common process for us is laser cutting. We start by laser cutting sheets to form the parts and blanks we need. The bulk of our tube work is also laser cut on our tube laser. The next common fabrication step is forming, generally accomplished on our CNC press brakes or tube benders. Frequently multiple parts need to be combined via welding to produce a weldment. Machining, hardware insertion, and grinding are all common fabrication processes as well.
Quality can only be maintained through process control and procedure verification. Each stage of fabrication is monitored and verified by an inspector to ensure compliance with specifications. There are no short cuts on the road to quality. Part inspection and double checking the inspection is the key to quality results at Seaborn Manufacturing.
