Laser Cutting Parts

Laser Cut precision parts for a wide range of industries. Our variable output Mazak laser is ideal for cutting from qty 1 to 1,000. Laser cutting metal produces an accurate part even with complex shapes and no requirement for special tooling. Our laser is fully automated to switch between the different materials with in our laser processing capabilities and has a two pallet shuttle. These feature allow us to be highly efficient because next to no down time is required.

To complement our high quality laser we purchased the best nesting software which insures your parts are cut accurately and efficiently. Many of our nests run with over a 90% material utilization and this includes the loss of material in holes as a scrap. We can easily cut and etch your steel and stainless parts in single setup. This combined efficiency of machine and software allows us to laser cut for our clients at the best pricing with out compromise.

We can laser cut mild steel to ¾” thick. Our mild steel laser cutting includes but is not limited to A36, 50W, Astm 516 Gr 70, Astm 386 gr 22, astm 1008, CRS and HRPO. We stock steel sheet from 20ga to ¾” to be laser cut. We typically offer nitrogen assisted laser cutting up to 14ga but can extend this range all the way to 3/16 / 7ga laser cut steel. We typically use oxygen as our assist gas for cutting carbon steel from 0.100 to ¾”.

Using nitrogen for the assist gas on the laser when cutting steel eliminates the oxide layer that should needs to be removed prior to powder coating or paint.  When we are laser cutting galvanized, stainless and aluminum we always uses nitrogen for the assist gas.

We can laser cut stainless up to 3/8” thick. Majority of our stainless steel is grade 304 with a 2B finish. We either stock or quickly can obtain and cut any thickness from 20ga to 3/8” stainless. The common grades of stainless are 304 /316 they are generally readily available. We have also used our laser to cut several far less common grades including Hastelloy X.

At Seaborn we laser cut a lot of aluminum sheet, because aluminum  fabrication is a specialty of ours. We offer laser cut aluminum up to ¼” thick and stock aluminum sheet ranging from 0.05” to ¼” at all times.

Laser cutting galvanized steel is viable option because of today’s modern laser cutting techniques. The effect on the galvanized steel at the edge laser cut is not noticeable to the eye. We laser cut tons galvanized G90 sheet each year. We can cut up to 3/16” thick galvanized sheet. We stock Galvanized G90 sheet ready to fabricate from 20ga to 10ga.

Typically we can laser cut holes as little as half of the material thickness in all materials with our laser. Other factors such as distance to edge and hole density can effect this ability. We have cut holes as small 0.200 through ¾” steel.

The quality of our laser cut edges we believe to be second to none. Our highly skilled laser programmers and cnc laser operators insure you get the very best part quality.

We offer the following additional services to complement our laser work, forming / brake work, CNC Machining, Welding of aluminum, mild steel & stainless and in house powder coat to complete your parts. Contact us today to get your laser cutting started.

Nitrogen assist gas is used for almost all laser cut aluminum, with a few project specific exceptions. With our liquid nitrogen supply, the quality of the laser cut is amazing. Sharp edges, with virtually no warping of the material because our state of the art laser cutting system has an extremely small heat-affected zone.

Aluminum up to ¼” thick can be laser cut. We always have aluminum sheet ranging from 0.06” to ¼” in stock.

At Seaborn we have a high quality laser and the best nesting software to ensure that material loss is absolutely minimized. A large number of the nests we run utilize over 90% of the materials and this is including the material lost in holes as scrap. Laser cutting is also extremely accurate, and is sure to fulfil your technical specs.

Laser cutting aluminum is an efficient way to produce anything from 1 to 1000 parts at a time.

Generally, holes as small as half the material thickness can be cut with the laser however, factors such as hole density and distance to the edge can effect this.

We do not offer etching for aluminum parts on our metal cutting laser but can get aluminum laser etched off line for you if required.

We believe our laser cut edges are second to none. You will receive the very best in laser cut parts thanks to our highly skilled laser programmer and CNC laser operators.

In addition to laser cutting we offer forming / brake work, CNC Machining, and in house powder coating to complete you project.

Laser Cutting Galvanized Steel

Laser cutting galvanized steel with our variable-output Mazak machine ensures that the best parts are made efficiently and precisely. Laser cutting offers precision even with the most complex parts.

Our very modern laser makes cutting galvanized steel a viable option not available to companies with outdated or less advanced lasers. The effect on the galvanized edge is not noticeable to the human eye.

The full pallet shuttles as well as our laser’s ability to automatically switch between any two materials in our processing capabilities make it perfectly suited for prototypes and production. We can produce anywhere from 1 to 1000 parts.

Galvanized steel up to 3/16” thick can be laser cut.

Unfortunately, laser cutting galvanized steel is more expensive than laser cutting steel in both material costs and operating costs. Typically the only scenario where laser cutting galvanized steel is recommended is when no other coating is to be applied and the part is in need of some environmental protection. This is both because of the cost and the fact that the cut edges will have no protection.

Generally speaking, holes as small as half the material thickness can be cut with our laser. This being said a variety of factors such as distance to the edge and hole density can change this ability.

We believe the quality of our laser cuts is absolutely second to none. Our highly skilled CNC laser operators and laser programmer, as well as excellent equipment ensure the parts you receive will overpass your highest expectations.

Additionally we offer other services such as CNC Machining, forming / brake work, welding, and in house powder coat to complete your work.
