Our History

Seaborn Manufacturing was founded by the Seaborn family in 1987 to deliver production fabricated components to the local Kitchener-Waterloo market.

The Seaborn family continued to grow the business and supplied clients in Canada and the United States. They provided steel fabricated parts and weldments for many industries, such as health care and security. They grew into metal stamping and tube bending with a strong skill set in welding.

In 2005 the Seaborn family sold the business to David Drescher. Having previously owned and operated a successful machine building business, he expanded the company and added CNC machining capabilities to Seaborn Manufacturing’s list of services.

Seaborn Manufacturing continued to grow in clientele and square footage, moving into its current 20,000 sq ft facility in 2006. Located at 629 Colby Drive backing on to King Street.

In 2007, Seaborn answered their clients’ steady demand for high quality powder coating by adding their own powder coat system.

In 2010 Seaborn Manufacturing added a DCC CMM to help keep up with its need for tight tolerance diverse part inspection. This combined with the PC-DIMIS software package have allowed for quick accurate part measurement to ISO standards.

Over the years, Seaborn has evolved with the ever-changing market and continued to grow with their clients, particularly in the areas of patient care, technology, power generation, and heavy equipment.

Dave Drescher explains, “The business has changed dramatically, with our work today being more aluminum fabrication and precision machining. Much of our work is prototypes. We continue to strive to improve our services, and believe our year over year increases in sales proves it. We truly appreciate our loyal clients choosing to work with us. We thank all our clients for their continued support and faith in Seaborn Manufacturing.”
